What You Need To Consider When You Are Getting Started

To get your practice up and running with OSCAR, Indivica supplies the following products and services. Please refer to indivica.ca/store, for more product details, and current pricing.

  1. OSCAR pre-installed servers – The typical solo clinic will deploy 2 x IndiviCare Mini Series Live Sync servers in the office and, optionally, 1 x IndiviCare Mini Series Geo Sync server at an offsite location for automated offsite backup. IndiviCare Pro E1 Series servers are deployed in small clinics. For large clinics, the IndiviCare Pro X1 Series servers and IndiviCare Pro X2 Series are your solution.
  2. IndiviCare annual support – You will need an annual support contract to ensure that your practice continues to run smoothly. The annual support includes telephone and email support, 1 x OSCAR software update per calendar year and 24/7 emergency coverage. The cost is $2,700/year for the first physician per clinic and $1,500 for each additional physician per clinic.
  3. OSCAR training – Both practitioners and staff will require specialized training to enable them to efficiently and correctly use OSCAR. Indivica recommends a minimum staff training consisting of 2 x 3 hr sessions to cover basic functionality and 2 x 3 hr sessions to cover basic billing. Indivica recommends a minimum practitioner training consisting of 2 x 3 hr sessions to cover basic usage. Both practitioners and staff may elect to receive additional advanced level training. Advanced training covers power user features and functions, and is customized per the needs of the individual practice. Advanced training is provided at $125/hr.
  4. EMR installation – Indivica provides on site installation and configuration of your new IndiviCare platform into your new or existing office infrastructure. This installation package, for clinics with up to 15 practitioners, includes setup of IndiviCare servers, configuring your network security, setup of your document scanner and installation of the first lab interface. Follow-on installation services are provided at $125/hr.
  5. EMR data conversion – Indivica is experienced in creating custom applications to move your data from your legacy system into OSCAR. Most established clinics move their demographic information. Some clinics will additionally move their billing histories, their appointments and schedule histories, and/or their electronic patient charts.

There are additional items that physicians may need to purchase beyond the EMR that are not included above. These items may include additional PC and/or Mac workstations, laser printers, a documentation scanner, a magnetic card reader and an uninterruptable power supply. In addition, the office must be connected to the Internet and an additional phone line may be required for EDT and possibly Lifelabs access.

Indivica will help you identify what is the correct infrastructure for your office. The physician has the choice to source these items themselves or having Indivica procure these items at an additional cost.
